    This looks really useful and helpful, however I have no idea what electrical appliance that you used. Does it have a name? Is it designed to boil water or is this an ‘alternate’ use?

    Hi, it’s called a “hot wire”, and you are right, it’s for boiling water. Essentially what it is, is an electric cable coupled to a resistance. Like having an electric kettle, but without the kettle.
